Coscholar ("we," "our," "the Service") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide the Service: Process your uploads, generate reviews, search papers, and run analyses
To improve the Service: Aggregate, anonymized usage analytics help us understand which features to improve
To communicate: Send service updates or respond to your support requests

4. Data Retention

Uploaded files: Processed during your session and automatically deleted when your session ends. We do not permanently store your uploaded papers, manuscripts, or datasets.

Account data: Retained as long as you have an active account. You can request deletion at any time.

Usage analytics: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Coscholar:

Anthropic (Claude AI): Powers the AI analysis. Your text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Google OAuth: Used for sign-in. We only receive your name and email. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Langfuse: Usage analytics and observability. Tracks session-level data (no file contents). See Langfuse's Privacy Policy.
E2B: Secure sandbox for data analysis code execution. See E2B's Privacy Policy.
Railway: Cloud hosting infrastructure. See Railway's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Security

We protect your data using:

HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication
Session-scoped file storage with automatic cleanup
No permanent storage of uploaded research documents

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
Opt out: Unsubscribe from any marketing communications

8. Cookies

Coscholar uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Coscholar is designed for academic researchers and students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us for deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the platform or email.
